The silly season
The election (a/k/a the silly season) is almost over. All the intensity and passion is great if it means people care a lot. But this year most of the emotion seems informed by things like he-can't-pronounce-nuclear and he-uses-botox-and-has-a-nutty-wife than by issues that matter. Some of us think Kerry is the only hope to save the country from misery and despair. Some of us think Bush has a strong character and is full of determination to do well by the country. The division and attacks are scary; it's a bit incomprehensible to think we all disagree so profoundly.
