War & peace
St. Augustine: "The purpose of all wars is peace." Although possibly true, is it because opposites need each other or is it pure and simple irony?

I was typing a sort of long comment and changed my mind in the middle of it. Short answer: Just irony.

I'd love to hear/read the long answer, though! If you want, feel free....

Well... the reason I stopped and gave the short answer was that I ran out of steam and wasn't sure where I was going with it. Now that I've thought about it for a little while I'm not sure my answer would be the same as it was an hour ago. Maybe if I ever figure out what I was going to say I'll post it. :-)

OK. I'm sure it will be interesting, if and when you write it!
