Earthquake
There've been two earthquakes in Indonesia, headlined on bbc and foxnews websites. Since "only" about 70 are dead, that must explain why it's not mentioned at all at cnn.com which is featuring a nasty little story about a pilot who crashed himself and his daughter into his mother-in-law's house, nor at nyt.com which leads with stories about Bush disagreements and the Libby trial and tucks the earthquake story halfway down the page. Sometimes it's more evident than usual how carefully pre-selected the news is according to each outlet. Makes you wonder how close is the connect between what we hear happens and what really happens.

I'm having a problem reading your latest post; the beginning few sentences get "eaten" by your banner, as well as the top of the first picture on the left hand side.

IOW, the top of your page is positioned too high, and the banner is covering it. I'm reading this blog on Firefox, I believe the latest version, on a PC, if that's any help.

Apologies! I thought it was sufficient to check different IE versions but apparently not. See if it's better now - although I didn't do much, but maybe it was enough. Thanks for letting me know!! Maybe I'll download FF and see for myself.

If you want to hear international stories, listen to NPR. I listen to it religiously every morning (have to have music in the afternoon) and sometimes I think they do too much international news.

I like the new look. The graphic is especially cute.
