Please explain
Two things I need explained, please: (1) what facts are so astronomically different than what we the public knows, that made a judge award custody (not shared custody, mind you, plain old everyday every day custody) of two children to David Hasselhoff, and (2) why it matters or we should care or anyone would be the least bit surprised that Elizabeth Hasselbeck doesn't think she and Rosie are friends.

Didn't you see? The judge said: "enough is enough". He simply got bored and wanted to end the hearing SOMEHOW, justice be damned.
Reminds me of what happened to a woman acquaintance of mine. She was one of the carpet vendors on a Macy's job. She got diagnosed with cancer, got operated, exhausted her disability term and were layed off, under convenient heading of an "unexplained absenses". She could fight it in court, but 1) was too sick to bother and 2) didn't have money for a good lawyer.
Than her husband of 5 years filed for divorce, shamelessly saying in court that he is not prepared mentally to live with terminally ill person. Since the house (in CT)was bought on his name, he got it as a result of divorce settlement - and Tracy had to move out, asking her friends in NY for hospitality (she was undergoing treatment at Sloan Kettering.) After 1/2 yr her ex filed for full custody of their 3-yr daughter on the grounds that Tracy "moved to a different state" and "left" the child. He also said as unemployed person she doesn't have financial means to care for her child.
He got the full custody.

YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING!!!!! That is absolutely horrendous. What kind of judge would do that?? What kind of man was she married to? Oh lord there are nasty rotten people in the world. (Is she well now? Can she sue to get custody and money back? I feel sure there are lawyers who would fight tooth and nail for her.)

Unfortunately, it's true. I lost touch with her... her cell phone was disconnected a year or so ago, and her former coworkers have no information...don't even know if she's alive.
Family lawyers, especially where custody is concerned, cost a lot. And judges decide cases on the basis what they think will benefit the child more; their usual solution, it seems, to assign the child to the parent who's making more money.
