WNET & WMHT
My joy at the June/July schedule on PBS (here) has been replaced by frustration and disgust. Once again, our ridiculous local PBS stations have thrown anything approximating good programming to the wind, in favor of . . . see if you can guess . . . yep, you got it! . . . yet another two weeks of pledge drive. It is utterly beyond me to know why they do pledge drives at all since everyone I know expresses derision and contempt for their programming but it's particularly offensive that they're beginning the so-called summer season like this, especially when the national network is going around advertising a wonderful show like Jericho. Which wonderful show my friends and I cannot see, of course.

The Chicago PBS station isn't showing Jericho tonight either. I haven't said anything on my blog because I was waiting to see what they're doing with Foyle's War. Sometimes when they're off the national schedule, they'll run things at odd times or back-to-back. If I have time, I might call them on Monday.

I'm sorry! So many disappointed viewers!! Hey, if you do call them, feel free to rant and rave on my behalf, too. And/or find out when they're going to show Jericho. (Grrrrr.)

I never found time to call WTTW (Chicago's primary PBS station). But, good news, TiVo's channel directory is now showing that WTTW will air part 1 of the new Jericho on the 16th and Foyle's War on the 17th of June. I'm hoping that means both episodes of Jericho will air eventually and that Foyle's War will be on for four Sunday's in a row. TiVo's directory only shows about 2.5 weeks, so I can't check the following weekends yet. (Of course the DVDs of Foyle's War are better than PBS, who edit the shows, but always good to see it on TV too.)
